Montessori Philosophy
The Montessori philosophy advocates for freedom of choice and movement at the beginning of life. It is believed that in the first 3 years of life, young children are driven by an internal force, called the horme, to choose from their environment what benefits their development. It is essential to provide them with a suitable environment that helps this process. Glimpses of high focus can be observed in this stage and the learning that takes place in this stage is considerably favoured by the unique stage of early development, which in the Montessori method are known as sensitive periods.
